Target groups Any person aged between 14 and 99 years of age who has a learning disability, or other vulnerable condition. Including people with mental health conditions, Dementia, Autism, vulnerable through age, or any other reason. Carers can also join the scheme and use our Safer Places if anything happens while they are out with their cared-for person.
Stoke on Trent City Council’s Community Development Team facilitate the Safer Places Scheme in Stoke on Trent. The scheme was first launched in October 2011 as it complements our remit to: “Enhance social inclusion throughout the City for people with a learning disability or any other vulnerable condition”
We also develop, update and deliver bespoke Learning Disability and Vulnerable Adult Awareness Training to all organisational members to ensure best practice and engagement between themselves and a vulnerable person. All our locations and details are now on the National database and mapping system. We continue to grow Safer Places in Stoke on Trent and promote the free to use App to our customers.
